Built for water + electricity.
Tank Commander sits between AC mains and your aquarium. We take that seriously. Every unit ships with multiple layers of protection, most of which you'll never notice unless something goes wrong.
Certifications
- UL 1310 / IEC 62368-1 (in progress)
- FCC Part 15 Class B
- RoHS, CE
Built-in protections
- Leak detection: immediate audible alarm + outlet cut-off when the floor probe registers water.
- Stray voltage monitoring: reads tank-to-ground AC on every outlet. Faults isolated to the offending outlet.
- GFCI advisory: we strongly recommend a dedicated GFCI on the wall outlet upstream. Tank Commander does not replace one.
- Overload protection: resettable thermal breaker on the AC input. Per-outlet current monitoring.
Install best practices
- Mount above the waterline; use the drip loop on every cord.
- Plug into a GFCI-protected wall outlet. Replace if you don't have one.
- Test the leak probe on day one: pour a teaspoon of tank water on it.
- Update firmware monthly. We patch safety bugs first.
