Built for water + electricity.
Tank Commander sits between AC mains and your aquarium. We take that seriously. Every unit ships with multiple layers of protection — most of which you'll never notice unless something goes wrong.
Certifications
- UL 1310 / IEC 62368-1 (in progress)
- FCC Part 15 Class B
- RoHS, CE
Built-in protections
- Leak detection: immediate audible alarm + outlet cut-off when the floor probe registers water.
- Stray voltage monitoring: reads tank-to-ground AC on every outlet. Faults isolated to the offending outlet.
- GFCI advisory: we strongly recommend a dedicated GFCI on the wall outlet upstream. Tank Commander does not replace one.
- Overload protection: resettable thermal breaker on the AC input. Per-outlet current monitoring.
Install best practices
- Mount above the waterline; use the drip loop on every cord.
- Plug into a GFCI-protected wall outlet. Replace if you don't have one.
- Test the leak probe on day one — pour a teaspoon of tank water on it.
- Update firmware monthly. We patch safety bugs first.
